Following our temporary 7-day pause to launching Bumper on mainnet, we have now deployed the protocol on the Sepolia network for live testing.
Users can now try out the Bumper dApp on the blockchain using test tokens.
Please note. There may be some legacy bugs which have not yet been updated in the dApp, or there may be features which aren't functioning as expected. Part of the purpose of the testnet is to allow us to find and fix some of these outstanding issues.
Please read this information carefully. Full step-by-step instructions are provided.
To access and use the testnet, there are a few steps that users will need to take.
1. Set up a metamask wallet
2. Obtain some free SepETH from a faucet
3. Request some test tokens
4. Connect to Bumper’s dApp
Now, let’s get into how to do each step, with a handy guide:
You can use an existing account, or create a new account for testing. Here’s how to do it using the Metamask browser wallet (recommended):
Step 1: Open Metamask, and click on the wallet name at the top. This will open your accounts list.
Step 2: Click ‘Add account’
Step 3: Name your account and click ‘Create’
Step 4: Click on the network selector icon
Step 5: From the network list, select Sepolia. If you don't see this listed immediately, activate the "Show Test Networks" slider.
Your metamask wallet should now appear as shown, highlighting SepoliaETH as the main asset. At the moment, you won’t have any, so let’s move on to how to obtain some for free.
Now your wallet is on the correct network, you need to get some SepETH (Sepolia ETH) which is used to pay gas fees on the network. This is required, as it emulates real ETH on the blockchain.
Step 1: Visit https://sepoliafaucet.com/ and Login/Sign up for a free Alchemy account
Step 2: Enter your wallet address and complete the captcha
Step 3: Click “Send Me ETH”
Note: you can claim up to 0.5 SepETH per day on this faucet. There are plenty of other faucets you can use if you require more.
Your SepETH tokens should automatically appear in your wallet once the transaction is confirmed on the testnet.
Now, you need to visit Bumper’s Discord server and request some test tokens. Jump into the server and select the #Testnet-tokens channel in the Support section. You’ll be then be sent some testnet tokens to your wallet. Please be aware it may take a little while for these to appear in your wallet as they will be sent on a regular schedule.
The address for the testnet will also be provided in the Discord once live.
